Jessica Trevino is a Master's student in Environmental Science working with Dr. David Hoeinghaus. Jessica's study will contribute to biodiversity research by examining how functional diversity of aquatic macrophytes affects attributes of the aquatic food web and ecosystem multifunctionality in a highly diverse tropical floodplain river in Brazil. Her work will include a field survey to characterize macrophyte diversity and other important components of aquatic food webs in relation to environmental gradients. It will also incorporate an experiment that tests mechanistic hypotheses regarding macrophyte diversity and aquatic food web structure. For more informartion on the Fulbright Foundation click here.
