What in the world, you may ask, is a BioBlitz? It's an amazing opportunity for naturalists of all kinds…from casual wildlife watchers to list-keeping birders, and kids of all ages, to participate in citizen science. A BioBlitz is an event that focuses on finding and identifying as many species of living things as possible in a given area, over just few days. LLELA's BioBlitz will be held on Saturday, October 13, and will include presentations and guided hikes led by experts on all sorts of topics: butterflies, reptiles and amphibians, wildflowers, birds, dragonflies, and more. We're still working on the full schedule, but watch LLELA.org for more details to come soon. And mark your calendar now for a fascinating day.
